Founded in 1873, St Mary Star of the Sea College is a Catholic congregational school for girls from Years 7 to 12. The College is owned by the Sisters of the Good Samaritan and governed by a Board of Directors. Through the dedication of 120 staff and inspired by Good Samaritan Benedictine values, more than 1,100 students are provided with an holistic education.
The College Board invites applications from experienced educators who will continue the educational mission of the Good Samaritan Sisters. The Principal is responsible to the College Board for religious, educational, administrative and community leadership to ensure the College pursues excellence in education within the Good Samaritan Benedictine tradition and the ethos of the College.
The new Principal will be an outstanding educator with a capacity for strategic thinking, proven skills in collaborative leadership and commitment to the Catholic faith and Catholic education for girls. Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills are essential, together an empathy with young people and the energy, humour and warmth to inspire students, staff, parents and the wider community.
