Set in the New England Tablelands, Armidale is located halfway between Sydney and Brisbane with the Diocese covering a significant portion of North Western NSW. The Armidale Diocesan Catholic school system has 24 schools located in 23 parishes, including primary (K-6), secondary (7-12) and central schools (K-10) with a total enrolment of nearly 6,000 students.
The Director is responsible to the Bishop, through the Bishop's Commission for Catholic Schools, to ensure the system of schools in the Diocese of Armidale reflects and gives witness to the mission of the Catholic Church. Their leadership will provide quality Catholic education and quality administration of the system within the Catholic Schools Office.
Applicants for the position will be expected to demonstrate:
• A strong personal commitment to the teachings and practice of the Catholic Faith;
• A career in Catholic education, preferably combining experience as a principal with a leadership role in a Catholic education office;
• Tertiary qualifications, ideally with post-graduate study;
• The capacity to work collaboratively with all stakeholders in the ministry of Catholic education
