Following the significant leadership for over a decade of Dr Michael Slattery, Secondary Schools Consultant and his new appointment as a principal, the Director of Schools invites applicants for the position of Schools Consultant particularly for secondary schools.
The Diocese of Broken Bay stretches from Willoughby on Sydney's lower North Shore to Lake Munmorah on the Central Coast and up the Manly Peninsula and comprises 43 Schools (36 Catholic primary and 7 Catholic high schools) and approximately 16,000 students. The position of Schools Consultant is a critical link between the Catholic Schools Office (CSO) and the operations of schools in the Diocese.
The Schools Consultant is the human face of the CSO within these schools and leads the promotion and implementation of the Diocesan Schools System Strategic Plan.
Applicants will need to demonstrate:
• An understanding of and commitment to the mission of Catholic schools within the Diocese;
• A career in Catholic education, including principalship experience in a secondary school;
• The capacity to work collaboratively at school, parish and system level;
• An understanding of current religious and educational leadership issues;
• Capability of leading school improvement within a K-12 curriculum context;
• Relevant post-graduate qualifications.
