The Catholic Education Office, Wollongong, provides support to 30 primary and 8 secondary schools across the Illawarra, Shoalhaven, Southern Highlands and the Macarthur. With over 16,000 students and employing more than 1,600 staff, the Diocese faces significant growth with new schools in South-West Sydney currently in the planning stage. The Catholic Education Office maintains a strong commitment to the broader work of the Diocese and contributing to the overall life of the Church.
Reporting to the Director of Schools and as part of the leadership team, this senior role manages a professional team which provides human resource services to support the 38 schools, including in employment relations, legal and OH&S; leadership development; performance management; recruitment, induction & appointment of staff; payroll and conditions of employment.
Applicants will need to demonstrate:
• Senior level HR experience, with responsibility for an organisation’s
human resource and employment relations functions;
• Understanding of the unique role of human resource services within the context of an educational environment;
• Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, and capable of proactively building strong relationships;
• Commitment to the teachings and practice of the Catholic faith;
• Appropriate tertiary qualifications.
