HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGER

The Catholic Education Office, Sydney is responsible for the leadership, efficient operation and management of the 147 primary and secondary systemic schools which educate about 64,000 students in the Archdiocese of Sydney. The CEO’s responsibilities include supporting more than 8,000 staff (permanent, temporary and casual) employed in Archdiocesan schools.

With the impending retirement of Mr Peter Ford after a long and distinguished career, this senior role, reporting to the Director of HR, was created to lead a small professional team to support CEO and school leadership staff. Titled ‘Head of Employment Services’ this position combines strategic and operational responsibility for a range of functions including:
• Employment and industrial relations
• Workforce planning
• Recruitment and selection
• Contract renewals and management
• Appraisals and performance management

Applicants will need to demonstrate:
• Senior level HR experience, with responsibility for human resource and employment relations;
• Capacity and desire to work at strategic and operational levels;
• Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, and capable of proactively building strong relationships;
• Commitment to the teachings and practice of the Catholic faith;
• Appropriate tertiary qualifications.
