The Catholic Education Office, Sydney is responsible for the leadership, efficient operation and management of the 147 primary and secondary systemic schools which educate about 64,000 students in the Archdiocese of Sydney. The CEO’s responsibilities include supporting more than 8,000 staff (permanent, temporary and casual) employed in Archdiocesan schools.
This newly created senior role, reporting to the Director of HR, will lead a professional team to support CEO and school leadership staff. Titled ‘Head of Safety, Wellbeing & Professional Services’ this position combines strategic and operational responsibility for a range of functions including:
• OH&S
• Professional standards
• Workers compensation and rehabilitation
• Child Protection
• Grievance investigation & mediation
• Bullying & harassment
Applicants will need to demonstrate:
• Senior level HR experience, including responsibility for managing a HR team;
• Capacity and desire to work at strategic and operational levels;
• Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, and capable of proactively building strong relationships;
• Commitment to the teachings and practice of the Catholic faith;
• Appropriate tertiary qualifications.
