MacKillop Catholic College, Warnervale, is a co-educational Kindergarten to 12 Systemic College of the Diocese of Broken Bay. It is one of a few such K to 12 Colleges in the Archdiocese of Sydney and the Dioceses of Broken Bay, Parramatta and Wollongong. The College has approximately 150 staff and more than 1,500 students, with students also on waiting lists for all Year groups.
Through the delegated authority of the Director of Schools, the Principal is responsible for the leadership and management of a school as an authentic Catholic educational community. The Principal is also accountable to the Diocesan community of schools, the wider Church community and government statutory authorities through the Director of Schools.
It is anticipated that the next Principal of the College will be able to demonstrate:
• Personal commitment to the teachings and practice of the Catholic Faith combined with the preparedness and capacity to work collaboratively with the Parish Priest.
• A career in education incorporating leadership experience in more than one educational setting.
• An understanding of and commitment to team building and collaborative leadership.
• The ability to articulate a vision for the purpose and identity for the College and the skill to facilitate the involvement of all stakeholders in shaping and implementing this vision.
• Focus on learning, being a strong pedagogical leader with an understanding of contemporary curriculum issues and thinking.
• The capacity to understand the complexities and implications of a K-12 curriculum.
